The UCB Bible Notes used by many at Christ Church and available from the welcome area have had a focus on those of an older generation over the past few days. Some of us fit into that category even though we may still feel ten years old inside! A town such as ours has significant numbers of older people and without sounding ageist we should be constantly mindful of our ministry to those who are older. The majority who visit the café or other midweek activities fit into this age profile. A proportion come because they see Christ Church as a place of warmth and welcome and part of their recreational life. My prayer is that those who cross our threshold may discover through a recreational involvement in Christ Church the more important reality of “salvation” and that in the later stages of life God through His Son Jesus may become a living reality.
